Creation and Catholics

Now I have no idea what the catholic opinion is on creation, but it seems pretty silly to me that they would suspend one of their own teachers in the Ottawa-Carleton Catholic School Board.

George, a well respected teacher, was suspended from the school board because merely mentioned the term "creation" during one of his classes, and two of his students complained to the board.

It definately sounds like the students run things at that school.

But what really gets me, is the thought that it's theoretically a christian school, and is supposed to teach about creation!

That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. I mean...if Christian schools aren't allowed to mention Creation, then they can't be a Christian school, because they're ignoring the biggest truth in the Bible!
Stuff like this makes me mad, not only because the school is supposed to be teaching the truth, but because if "Christian" teachers don't believe in creation, then they may as well go to any secular school. It's not right. Both evolution and creation should be taught. It would be the same thing if I complained that the teacher was teaching evolution and offended my sensibilities. Same darn thing! Yet we can't because evolution is considered "acceptable". So what? Everyone has different beliefs. So maybe we should stop teaching evolution and creation and make everyone happy. But no. You'd probably get some ya-hoo complaining about something else. It's a vicious cycle...and so is my ranting....but that just makes me mad.
